The gentleman depicted was attending an Anzac day ceremony at an early stage of the Vietnam war. In the relatively small crowd there were several VC winners and other highly decorated personnel.
He talked to both members of the Police force and war veterans. At the time I admired his courage as there were few demonstrators present.
