Argyle Cut - 1985

This is a tunnel from 'The Rocks' to Millers point. Prisoners started tunneling, with hammer and chisel, on the sandstone rock in 1843.

When transportation of convicts ended ten years later, it was finally completed by hired workers in 1859.
