We (Myrna and myself) met Emily in the early 1990's when she came to Australia from the Philippines to complete a Masters of Law degree. Emily made a lot of friends and acted as a social catalyst in establishing friendships between people. She later progressed in her career to become a judge.

In 1999 Emily and her family generously showed us around many different towns and villages north of Manila.

We saw her again in Xmas 2006 in an intensive care room at the Capitol Medical Center. She died on January 10th 2007 from an advanced stage of cancer five days after we last visited her. She was courageous till the end.
